However, it will be easier to apply for residency positions from a US medical school. Doing it from abroad might force you to take a 1-2 year break between medical school and residency; I have a faint memory that foreign medical students must pass the USMLE exams before they can participate in the residency match program, while students at American universities can sign up for the match program before they have passed their exams.
