Hi, I am trying to make a choice between pursuing a career in medicine or dentistry. If I were to go into medicine, I want to be an anesthesiologist that specializes in cardiothoracic. If I were to go into dentistry, I would become a maxillofacial surgeon who specializes in facial reconstruction, or cosmetics. Or I would become an orthodontist. Please put some posts to help me decide. I am really confused about which one I would be better off in. Thank you!

The one you like the most.

Go with the one you are most likely to succeed at with the least debt

Are you even in college yet? Concentrate on getting through the first 2 years of college chem, bio, organic with excellent grades. Pre-health tracks are basically the same for med/dent. Way too early to be fantasizing about specialization.

Thanks! I will think about that. Also to “dentmom4” I am just one of those people who plan their lives before it happens, it is just a little habit of mine. I like to know what I am going to do, because it gives me a goal and pushes me to work hard.
