Dentist vs Doctor

Im at a critical juncture in my life.
I've come to realize that I want to work in a healthcare setting.
I thought for a while now that I wanted to be a doctor, but now I'm seriously considering being a dentist

I've always eschewed dentistry because my mom is one, but now, I'm taking a serious look at it, and I'm torn.

Since she has her own practice, I would "inherit" it after she retires if I choose dentistry.

Plus I feel that dentists have better lifestyles and yet make about the same amount of money
Furthermore, the idea of running a business has always appealed to me, and by having my own dental practice I would have a business
Finally, the schooling would be less (no residency)

I thought I had decided to apply to combined med progs, but now I feel it is wiser to go to an ivy league/ comparable institution

I'm only a junior in high school so I have time.

What do y'all suggest?

Also, how hard is it to get into dental school?

Also, dentists have less malpractice suits, and less hassle from insurance companies
