To current Amherst students who are interested in medieval and renaissance stuff, such as Chaucer, Langland, Beowulf, Dante, history of medieval france and italy…are the English literature and History departments at Amherst good for someone who is very interested in medieval studies? Who are some of the professors at Amherst who teach medieval literature and history? Thanks!

I can tell you that my D took the freshman seminar Renaissance Marvels and thought it was terrific. They went to NYC and the Folger, and if what she says about that was so great, then medieval should be just as goodl. D has taken enough courses in the dept. that it would be a minor elsewhere and has never had a bad prof or course.
