Medieval Times vs. Modern Times

Life for African tribes has been exactly the same for millenia, aside from the recent introduction of AK-47s.

I refuse to believe it was really THAT BAD for EVERY serf. I mean there had to have been a few noble Noblemen. Or maybe some that saw the advantage of not having to replace dead serfs every year, what with the costs of training a new staff and such…

Exactly the same? Maybe that thing called slavery and colonialism changed things a wee bit for them.

Maybe if you ever get a chance to go back in time to the medieval ages, you’ll get to be King Arthur, and not one of the miserable serf population that made up like 95% of the European populace.

I’m talking about the indigenous tribes that have their own culture and whatnot. the ones who kill rhinos with spears.

Not all Lords were inherently negligent or cruel, but the life of a peasant wasn’t exactly “treasured” in the pre-enlightenment times. The importance of the individual was really only emphasized recently. Before then, a few people died, no big deal, there were always more to replace them. Because laborers started work in their early teens or childhood, populations that died could be replaced rather quickly.

Also, I don’t think there are any major indigenous tribes in Africa that still kill rhinos with spears, and live in the exact way they have for centuries. If there are any, they must be very good at hiding.
