I want to major in journalism, obviously.

I'm a white girl.
I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA, 4.64 weighted.
2120 SATs. 700 reading; 690 math; 730 writing.
I'm taking 2 SAT IIs on Oct 14.
6 APs by graduation (4 on US gov't, 5 on Calc AB, 2 on World History..oops. This year I'm taking Calc C, French V, and English Lang.)

Senior Year Schedule:
Physics G/T (G/T is an advanced class? I don't know how many high schools have this..)
French V AP
Mentorship G/T (This is an internship program at my school.)
Art I
Calc C AP
English Lang AP
Journalism IV

Extracurriculars:
Editor in Chief of the school newspaper, and I've worked on the paper all 4 years.
Editor in Chief of county-wide, student-run magazine for 2 years.
Treasurer of Class Council. Worked on class council all 4 years.
SGA, generall assembly
NHS-cluster leader
Cappies, which is a national student critic and award program for high school theater. (AKA, I write reviews of high school plays)
5 or so other clubs (Math team, French club, Enviornmental club, etc.)

This summer I attended the Journalism Division of the National High School Institute. (A 5-week program at Northwestern.)
I've also attended a few national journalism conventions over the years.

Both of my parents graduated from Northwestern. (My mom from Medill. My dad did engineering.)

I have 3 strong recommendations. (One from a senior writer at Newsweek, who was my instructor at NHSI.)

So the question is: Should I apply ED? I'm worried about financial aid, but I'm not sure if I'd get in regular decision. There are a few strong applicants applying to NU from my school, but not to Medill. Would I be compared to them? Or does Northwestern consider Medill applicants separately?

Also, how bad are my SAT scores? :-/ I wanted to retake them, but I won't have time to do that and take the SAT IIs before the ED app is due.

Thank you!
