Medill or Newhouse?

To my shock, I was actually accepted to both Medill and Newhouse. I'm visiting Syracuse this friday and Northwestern on the 24th, so that's what I'm expecting to make my decision off of. Tenatively, I signed up for a Print Journalism focus and I plan on double majoring with Political Science. I know Newhouse has a really high job placement among their graduates (haven't found any statistics on Medill), however, I have no plans on becoming a journalist at this moment.

I just wanted to study something I was interested in (and politics and journalism fit in this category), I actually think I would like to go to Law School after college. I figured many of the essential skills to law (communication, research, effective writing, prying stuff out of people) can be learned by studying journalism and is a bit more unique.

After financial aid, I'm looking at 15k a year for Newhouse and 8k a year for Medill. I'm not sure if I can handle the academic rigor of Northwestern. I'm a pretty lazy student in school who gets by with last minute work and has never had to write an out of class paper since sophomore year. Also I'm not that great with the maths and sciences. At the same time, the campus life at Syracuse seems much more of a dud than Northwestern's.

So taking into consideration the above factors, what should I be looking at when deciding where to go in the end?

Honestly, I'd take NU for no other reason than campus life, higher initial selectivity, and money. If you don't like it later, it'll be easier to transfer from Medill than into it.

I got into both schools schools as well and I like Medill better, I think it has more name recognition and more prestige, at least in cali. No one had ever heard of newhouse out here...
