Hello everyone! I just received my AP scores for this year from earlyscores, and I’m kind of freaking out because I got a 3 on English Literature. I’ve taken 9 AP tests so far and got seven 5s, one 4, and one 3, and I believe my class rank is 1/110. Would this 3 greatly affect my chances at admissions to top schools, like MIT, Caltech, Princeton, etc? Would it be better to report this or leave it off?
Also, could our teachers see our score breakdown for AP tests? I’m considering getting a rescore because I’m pretty sure I’m very close to a 4, and maybe I can get up to there with a rescore. Would that be advisable?
Thank you for any help!
One 3, which I would simple not report, will not be the reason if you are rejected.
On another note, your header “Mediocre AP Scores” is misleading clickbait, and I edited it to the singular, since I hop you are not considering a 4 as mediocre.
@skieurope would it look bad to not report an AP score? Also, do you happen to know if AP teachers get a breakdown of your score?
Why does it matter if your AP teacher knows your score? Have you not already completed that class and got your grade?
My standard answer is not reporting 1 or 2 is fine. More than that, I think eyebrows are raised.
The school, and therefore your teachers, only get the 1-5 score. Only the CB knows your raw score, unless you got all the points, and then you get a congratulations letter from them.
