<p>I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread for admitted students, particularly those planning to matriculate next fall.
So, how is everyone feeling? Personally, I'm still in a state of shock, as I was really expecting deferral. Above all, I'm glad I won't have to spend my Christmas break doing apps.
Has anyone confirmed that they will be matriculating yet? I haven't, but probably will some time within the next few weeks.
Also, are you guys planning on applying to other schools, or is this it?</p>
<p>Firstly, hey! I’m still in a state of disbelief just like you probably won’t get out of it until mid-February, but I wouldn’t change a thing about it. :D</p>
<p>As for matriculation, the ONLY thing keeping me from replying immediately is that whole financial aid thing. I’ll need to see how much my family’ll need to pay before I can ultimately make the decision. So, I may end up applying to a couple of schools from similar tiers solely to see if their financial aid packages will contrast with Yale’s by a significant enough amount to matter, as well as a few state schools that may offer me a good amount of money to attend.</p>
<p>Still, Yale’s been and continues to be my dream school. I doubt anything less than no financial aid whatsoever would stop me from matriculating somehow.</p>
<p>Also: Majors, anyone? I’m still set on MB&B/Political Science double, although I hear the course load needed for that may just brutally murder my social life. Here’s to baseless optimism, regardless!</p>
<p>Congrats to everyone else who got accepted! I, too, am still in a state of total disbelief. this entire experience is so surreal. I haven’t yet confirmed that I will be attending Yale but i’m about 99% sure that Yale will be my home for the next four years. I am choosing not to send any more applications, but I am waiting on the ones that I already sent prior to my acceptance.
I hope that everyone in each of your lives is also so excited for you because it truly is so fantastic to be accepted.
I would love if we could get to know each other and tell others somethings about ourselves. I mean, we learned everyones SATs and GPAs in the results thread, but that says so little about everyone.</p>

<p>Congrats! I almost clicked the “reply online” button to confirm my matriculation to Yale yesterday. 
I was just so ridiculously excited. I’m definitely set on Yale, but will probably apply to HPS to appease my parents. </p>
<p>@Concerto: The fin aid Yale gave me was sooooo generous! I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Btw, I’m thinking of an engineering/lit or engineering/ethics, politics, econ double major and worrying about whether that will kill my social life as well! </p>
<p>And I agree with iqtest, we should get to know each other. After all, we will probably be attending Yale come fall!</p>

<p>Pending financial aid, I will certainly be accepting the offer of admission. The aforementioned sentiments of shock and surrealism describe perfectly my state of mind for the past few days. I’m intending to major in international studies, and I ordered my free tshirt as soon as I stopped shaking haha.</p>
<p>Also, what did your acceptance screens look like? People on the FB group are saying they’re replaying the song or video or something, but all I got was a static image and no sound even with my speakers on! :(</p>

<p>Oh my gosh! so I just discovered my financial aid package and that has definitely influenced my decision to go to Yale! Seriously, you guys, Yale financial aid is sososo generous.</p>
<p>Yeah, Yale’s fin aid is SO generous. I still rub my eyes everytime I read my fin aid letter. </p>

<p>Hey, anyone know how tough Directed Studies is? Would it be possible to do DS and have a double major in engineering & lit and not go crazy?</p>
<p>@artexius: Yeah Same! I checked it on my luck Ipad which i use to check all my important stuff like SAT scores and I didn’t hear any music. I was also expecting the screen to light up blue so at first I was a little disappointed…until I read the message on the screen. I practically jumped up from my table. HAHA.</p>

<p>I am (still) in a complete state of euphoria and every time I think of the little song the welcome plays I feel the world is very…surreal 
My financial aid is still pending <em>grrr all that work through the financial aid forms…</em>
and unless I am accepted to Brown PLME with a comparable scholarship to Yale or Yale makes me pay a ridiculously large amount, I will most definitely be matriculating

<p>Guys if you’ve been accepted to Yale and its your first choice, dont apply to other schools. You’re possibly taking the admission spot away from someone else who wants to attend their “dream college” as well. Its poor form, please dont apply.</p>

<p>^Yeah, I agree. I also think it’s a good idea to write a letter of withdrawal to any university to which you’ve submitted an RD application (if you’re certain you’re going to Yale).</p>
