Hey guys. I was just wondering if anyone knew if admitted transfers could meet with counselors on transfer bruin day. I appreciate all the responses :)

I don’t think so. Bruin Day is more of an event, so there shouldn’t be any academic counselors on standby. It’d be UCLA students and some faculty trying to give transfer students an opportunity to explore the campus, ask general questions, etc.

You’ll be able to meet with a counselor face to face during orientation, which is sometime in June/July I believe.

Also, this is somewhat frowned upon, but if you’re planning on taking a UCLA summer course(s), you can meet with a UCLA counselor during spring session (now), and have an appointment with a counselor.

The reason it’s frowned upon is because the counselors for the spring session are for UCLA current students. Not freshman/transfer admits. It’s like taking a bagel from a bagel shop without paying for it.

@BurntCorpse I think it’s more like sampling a bunch of ice cream flavors without buying one. Not exactly stealing, but just not quite right :))

@BurntCorpse, i tried to make an appointment over the phone for when i came up there, and they told me no, not until orientation. Maybe if you were a walk in they would meet with you? Im taking 3 summer courses

@BlaiseAM Yea I wanted to talk to them about summer courses too. I have already SIRED so I don’t see why I wouldn’t be able to see a counselor while I am up there.
