So because I just finished APUSH this year, I decided it would be beneficial to take the subject test for it now. My mind got suckered into taking three, so I also took Lit and Math 2. However, I got so bogged down in end of year activities, I didn't prep at all. Today, when scores came out, my only manageable score was US (780). Now, I'm stuck with a 700 lit and a 650 math 2 (e gads!). I'm planning on applying to very selective colleges, including Yale, and I'm a little unsure of how this will register. If I retake them while actually prepping and do better, do schools discount the scores jist because you retook it? Sorry I'm really clueless haha.

Depends on the school.
Some have a policy of taking the best score for each test, while others look at all the test scores from every SAT, ACT, etc. Since your scores aren’t too bad, if you could retake them and do better it’d probably look good for you.
I believe Yale requires all sores from all test dates, but I’m sure someone here has more information than I do on that particular school.

Yeah I now Yale doesn’t participate in score choice, which is why I’m not sure how badly that 650 would reflect given that it is still a sophomore year score.

I say if you can take the Math 2 test again and do a lot better you should be ok.
