Will a 550 Math 2 kill me for Yale.

I know that Yale makes you send all your scores.

I got a 2310 on my SAT this year and expect to do well on other SAT2s, but in ninth grade, for absolutely no reason, I took the math 2...and did miserably. So am I in a hole too big to climb out of.

SAT subject exams can be selected… no?

Not for Yale and Penn

Why not retake it and show them you know your stuff? I’m sure they will recognize that you took it in 9th grade.

Thanks, pyflask, that’s a good idea, I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. So if I go nuts over the summer and get an 800 in it, all will be restored?

yeah. If you retake it and get 760+, it is clear that you know your stuff. If you’re still worried about it, write a note about how you took it in 9th grade on your common app

I think if you do well on the retake you’ll be okay.

Retake it for sure

Obviously retake it. Even if they see one low score, the high score will matter to them a whole lot more. Everyone has a bad day, and many 9th and 10th graders think since they are “smart,” they don’t need to study.

Back in the day, I was told anything about 700 means you aren’t negatively affecting your chances at an Ivy. AP scores of 4 or 5 and all subject tests above 700 are considered “normal”.
