Memorization technique for SAT vocabulary??

Hello.
I try to memorize perfectly the SAT vocabulary words, but I often forget within a week, even though I review them again and again. What kind of memorization technique do you use when studying and memorizing SAT vocabulary?

Eh, I think reading is better than trying to memorize. Pick books with vocabulary a notch or two trickier than you’re entirely comfortable with, and keep a dictionary handy. You’ll remember the meanings better if you learn them in context.

Read TIME Magazine. You’d be surprised how many words (especially those from Direct Hits) appear in articles. Also, try to incorporate words that you learned into your writing, your thoughts, and (if you want to be pretentious) your speaking.

Really, though, it’s common to forget stuff you learn but don’t use. I spent the day before the SAT re-memorizing DH because most of it had disappeared by then.

DH and read some good interesting magazines like Time or some other popular wellknown mag

Reading words in context helps, as some of the people above me stated. Also, try using the words yourself. Some of them don’t fit daily conversation, so maybe try writing them in sentences. GreatVocab.com is also really helpful. It teaches you the roots of words as well as synonyms and antonyms. Plus, it learns your strengths and weaknesses to help you study efficiently. Best of luck on the test!
