Ok, to start off I have a disability. It's kinda tough to describe with one or two words, because it's really not a disability as much as it is an impairment, but as I found if I just call it an impairment, I'm not permitted accommodations anywhere. I don't hide it now that it's more "influential". Back years ago I had to hide it, because the lack of knowledge regarding it, and just hearing o it would literally "scare people away" even though they don't know me. And even now when colleges learn of it, it somehow explains (though erroneously) my stance regarding my rights as both a disabled/impaired person/student be it either state or federal laws and my religious preference. And that ALWAYS complicates matters exponentially.

Anyhow, my impairment/disability is Traumatic Brain Injury. Do not be mistaken and refer to it as "mental illness", because it's not. It is a physical "insult" to the brain itself. I know some of you know about it, I also know a number of you have no idea what it is. Anyhow, in another thread I had disclosed my religious difficulties. But let's put that issue aside.

The difficulty I have, aside from administrative misunderstandings, is my memory retention. I have difficulty with SOME forms of short-term memory. Some things I can remember exceptionally well and some I don't. It is related to stress levels, if I am under "a lot" of stress, which may not be much to the "normal community", it makes short-term memory retention even more difficult.

So with this said, I ask for advice from those with similar experiences & impairments in improving memory retention.
