I've had a hearing loss since i was born. About 70% in one ear and 90% in the other. I got hearing aids and started learning to talk when I was 3. I wrote a really good essay on how overcoming my hearing loss has helped me become a better person. I'm also thinking it could excuse my low verbal scores (SAT I 610, SAT II 560). My speech is normal and I've obviously doing well. Do you guys think this might help me?????

Yeah I think it could defintely help you...

I recently got diagnosed w/ADHD after struggling in school& on tests for YEARS...now I wonder how I could have done if I had found out and got medicine sooner!! :-( I wish Cornell knew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANYWAYS smart idea writing about it, I think it will definitely make them look favorably upon you because they LOVE to hear about people overcoming ****...MAD PROPS SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It'll help you.. no doubt.

I don't really have a disability to write about, save the fact that I'm the daughter of immigrants and grew up in a non english speaking household.. not really a disability but the topic of one of my essays..but yeahh not only will your essay be touching in the standard "i overcame something" sense, but you seem really sincere about it, and that'll come through and they'll see you're genuine about it and not just milking it for the ivy league prize. like she said, mad props.
