Memory Foam topper

I have a question. So I’ve heard that dorm mattresses are super uncomfortable. Also, I have some back problems, and at home, I sleep on a regular mattress with a 4 inch memory foam topper. I really want to buy a topper and bring it to the dorm, however, I read this in the “what to pack” list from my university:

“To prevent the spread of bed bugs,
you can only bring upholstered pillow, cushions, or bedding that will fit into a community dryer.”

I am really concerned that my topper won’t fit into a dryer, but I really can’t see sleeping without one. I am afraid that if I call and ask, they will tell me I can’t bring one. But if I just bring one without asking, they might tell me then that I can’t have it, and then I am out 150 bucks.

Should I get one and bring it anyway? or should I call first? or would a anti-bed bug mattress encasement help?

Definitely bring a topper. I would just use an anti-bed bug mattress protector around topper. Even with any back problems, the dorm beds are terrible.

^^ what @Gumbymom mom said. Just don’t skip the mattress protector!

They almost certainly aren’t going to inspect your dorm for things like a mattress topper that is too big. An anti-bed bug mattress encasement would probably be good too. My dorm bed was actually very comfortable with a memory foam topper that was about an inch thick on it
