Im trying to transfer into the gender and sexuality studies this fall and was curious if there were any guys in the major? It really doesn’t make too big of difference to me, I was just curious. Also, is it a very popular major? How are the professors? Thanks ahead of time!

I can only answer 1 of these questions, but the number of students completing this concentration in the past 4 years has been 4, 4, 6, and 5

Hope I get in!

Uroogla: where did you get that data? I’m suspect, since I know at least 5 concentrators that I can count off the top of my head. Maybe that’s since I’m involved in the QA…

Norcal: I would say that there aren’t a huge number of concentrators, but many students do take a few classes within the concentration. I do know at least two male-identified concentrators, so you won’t be alone.

The Office of Institutional Research publishes data on the number of students completing each concentration each year in the report on its website

Hm. Maybe it’s a larger number in the next few years (the people I know) or my sample is just not representative of the Brown population. Totally possible.

I got my numbers from OIR, as suggested above.
