Men

A couple questions:

Do men have a greater chance of acceptance due to the low percentage at the college? Also, is your "character/personal qualities" really a very important admission factor?

Thanks for the help!

Men probably have a better chance of getting in, yes.

"Character/personal qualities" is a very important factor because they like to only accept kids that "fit" Sarah Lawrence. There's a lot of kids with 4.0's who the school knows would be miserable/wouldn't do well at the school because they're not a "fit".

Thanks! I guess that makes sense. So, I'm guessing an interview is very important.

That's awesome because at my interview they kept stressing how similar my school was to SLC and how much I fit. I didn't even realize that was important.

I think a Sarah Lawrence student fits in by not fitting in, so to speak. Therefore, I think even more important than an interview, is displaying your unique learning, thinking, and speaking style in your admissions essay. Every student at Sarah Lawrence has a unique voice that demands to be heard. But in writing a message, you are presented the opportunity to answer what not the college offers, but an opportunity to defend why and how YOU would best fit this institution. You, my friend, is the key word here. You (individuality), combined with a strong sense of passion, instilled by an underlying tone of uniqueness, demonstrate a riveting adherence to an admissions representative. For this reason, I don’t think the interview is very important in the admissions selection process.
Rather, an interview is more of an opportunity to ask an alumnus of the school important questions. The interview isn't necessarily a critique or evaluation of your speaking and thinking skills.

Yes, I also agree that men have a better chance of being selected at Sarah Lawrence...well, because clearly males are in the minority...haha, females inhibit over 70 percent of the population at Sarah Lawrence.

Well maybe they don't like men there, maybe that's why there are so few.
