This is asked on the Grinnell supplementary form, should I fill this out or would it be better to not mention the other schools?

Some counselors do not reccomend answering the question because they do not feel it is the college's business and it is irrelevant to whether you are qualified for admission. However, some do suggest that you list colleges of similar academic strength and size. You have to make that decision. I applied ED so I told them that I was focused only on Grinnell.

Hm...I listed the schools I applied to, but I think my list will appear fairly balanced to them with safeties/matches/reasonable reaches/one high reach. Although, I wonder if the fact that Grinnell is the unique college on my list in terms of location will hurt me. (All the others are eastern US.) I mean, I haven't had an interview either.

I wonder, if you list them should you also tell them the ones you have already been admitted to?

If you are going to list colleges to which you are applying, I don't think there is a problem including those where you have already been admitted. You are only indicating that you are applying rather than your admission status.

My college counselor said that they only use that information for their statistical purposes, and not in determining the admission decision. Hopefully he is right...
