<p>We just enrolled our daughter in the Mercersburg College Prep Camp being held this summer at a boarding school called Mercersburg Academy (PA). The program is directed by the now past president of the national association for college admission counselors (NACAC) and is a one week intensive program for rising 10th and 11th graders. The program focuses on all aspects of the college admission process (essay writing skills, interviewing skills, college visits, one-on-one interviews with college counselors, resume building, college visits, a personalized list of schools, etc.). <p>We can't afford boarding school for our daughter, but this is a small program designed to give kids access to some of the best college counseling in the country. Her current public school has one college counselor for a class of 375 seniors, which is crazy. This camp has one professional college counselor for every 12 students. My daughter is going to get more attention in one week than my son received in 4 years at their current school. As far as I know, it is the only program of its kind.</p>
