Visiting Knox shortly and am very interested in attending. Looking for a small LC in the Midwest. Considering Knox, Illinois Wesleyan, Augustana, Coe, Grinnell, and Beloit. ACT is 31 with a GPA of 3.9 on a 4.0 scale. EC are average. Hope to increase ACT by a few points this fall. Can anyone share there experience with Merit awards at Knox?

Hi. I have already been accepted. Received a 6k/year Knox Founders Scholarship.

3.9 GPA, 32 ACT, pretty strong EC and I got the 18k/year Lincoln Scholarship

JordanOOO, according to the Knox web site, the maximum for the Lincoln Scholarship is $15k. Did you really get $18K, or did you get $15k for the Lincoln and $3k for another Knox scholarship?

Anyone else get the Presidential?

I think the website information is old because it says the Muelder goes up to 10K and I got a 12K Muelder Scholarship. I had a 34 act, 3.82 UW and 4.13 W gpa. I don't think they care about ACT scores so I would spend the time focusing on your essay and extracurriculars.

Unfortunately, like most middle class families, there is no way I can afford paying $23,000 a year...yet I probably won't qualify for need aid. :( Good luck to you though! I really fell in love with Knox and envy anyone who gets to attend such a personal, unique school.

gob-your stats make you a good candidate for a merit award at many schools. If you really love Knox they will probably find a way to make it work out.

It was $18k for the Lincoln, no other awards.

I got the Muelder scholarship for 10K (I have a 3.77 UW GPA, 2150 SAT, 780 Literature SAT II), 3K art scholarship, and 3K writing scholarship. Very satisfied, as I can only hope to get that much need-based aid from schools.

I've applied ED to Middlebury, but if I don't get in there, I'll apply to Bryn Mawr, Brown (...), Sarah Lawrence, Beloit, maybe Kenyon...

I haven't visited Knox -- what's it like??

Russia-how did you apply for the writing scholarship? I only saw a box to check and them you would be notified of a competition
