Has anyone had a child go to Babson and receive extra consideration for merit/scholarship money for playing a sport? I know in a lot of the D3 schools, coaches will push admissions for players that they really want on the team to receive scholarship money that they would normally not qualify for.

D3 does not give scholarships for athletics.

You are either in admissions at Babson or just didn’t read my post. I know there are no athletic scholarships for D3 - that wasn’t my question.

I’m looking for athletes that have been recruited by Babson that may have received academic scholarships that they would normally not qualify for.

Is it that hard for your son to come on here and ask the question?

Chances would be slimmer than anything.

I’m right there with you, basketballdad, and would love to know the answer to your question. It’s a very expensive school.

I’m a current student athlete at Babson. I don’t believe that the Admissions office gives extra consideration for student athletes because it’s against NCAA policy but there are numerous merit and need based scholarships. I was fortunate enough to get one of these so it is definitely possible for student athletes because many of my friends are also on merit-based scholarships.
I’ll direct you to the website below so you can see some more information on the scholarships: [Babson College - Ugrad - Need-based Grants and Scholarships](http://www3.babson.edu/babson2ndgen/Ugrad/Scholarships/Scholarships/Need-based-Grants-and-Scholarships.cfm)

In addition to the scholarships, Babson meets over 90% of the financial need, with more than 50% of the student body receiving some sort of financial aid. The financial aid office here is wonderful and would be more than willing to speak to you about any concerns you have. I would recommend you reach out to them. I hope this helps!
