Hi!

I received an email yesterday inviting me to apply for the Merrill Frosh Scholars Program. Is there anyone who is currently a part of this program who could give me their opinion of it? Or does anyone know how the workload compares to students not enrolled in the program?

i got that email too!

sry i dont kno much abt it tho

my intended major is bio so i think i will hav a hard enough work load w/o an honors prgm

I got that too.
But I don't think I'm going to UCSC next year.

got this too. it kind of seems like it wouldn’t be worth it and you can’t opt out. hmmm

Is it true that only about 20 people do it?
Not going to UCSC, but if I did go I would definitely do it.

I’m thinking about applying too!

Does anyone know how many people they offer the opportunity to? I don’t want to waste my time if I’m up against competition if I have barely any chance.

Yes, they generally accept 22 students.

Lastly, has anyone heard from the regents scholars program?

You have to apply for it? I got a letter in the mail saying I was already in it.

COngrats! most people probably have to apply for it but if you got a letter in the mail giving you acceptance than you’re one of the lucky ones! too bad you’re not going to santa cruz, though!
