ME's and CE's: Did you study for the FE Exam?

Hi

I will be taking the FE exam in about a month. I'm debating whether I should study and/or buy the expensive review book. Like most people on this thread, I'm easily in the top quartile of my class. Furthermore, at my school the vast majority of students pass this exam (like 95%). Since I have a very busy schedule this year, I'm wondering if I should even waste my time studying? I mean, this exam supposedly tests only the most fundamental concepts of the engineering undergrad curriculum. Anyone have any input or suggestions?? I certainly don't want to fail the exam haha. But if you guys didn't study and you passed it, then I probably won't study haha.

Thanks in advance!

I did study. And yes it pretty much focused on the fundamentals, which is why I studied. By senior year, I forgot most of the things that I didn’t use in my upper level courses.

I’m also wondering how much time I should studying for this exam. Does anyone else have any experience with the FE? How much do you guys study?

I’m so looking forward to Saturday… not.

I love being an EE, having never taken dynamics, and just learning now that I’ll be tested on a ton of concepts I’ve never even seen before.

did not study. passed ME .

i went in and it was mostly civil engineers because they actually have to be certified to do their job. i’d recommend looking thru the formula book online. i didn’t realize it was even posted online and was suprised how big it was when i opened it at the table for the first time at the table…

most of the questions are pretty easy. there is an occasional question that is out of leftfield and you just kind of guess and move on…

Im taking it this saturday too, at pomona fairplex. Wish me luck! I’m taking the ME one.

Good luck Mttran!

I don’t know why I’m stressing so much about this… what’s the worst that happens? I fail? oh no! lol

But here’s another grumble from me: why on earth is organic chemistry covered? How many engineers even take orgo? That’s pretty much only some chemE’s…
