Guys I’m a little worried. Just got this e-mail:
Dear _____,
We have received your University of California Undergraduate Application for Admission and Scholarships. Thank you for
your interest in our campus.
In order to complete our review of your application, we need to know the grades you received in the winter 2016 term.
When those grades are available, please go to https://admissions.universityofcalifornia.edu/applicant immediately to
submit them. Failure to provide this information may cease our review of your application for admission.
If you need to respond to this message please use our online response form by clicking the following link:
DO NOT reply to this email as it will not be delivered.
Sincerely,
UC Berkeley Undergraduate Admissions
Please note: This communication and your response may be shared and reviewed by the following campuses to which
you may have applied: Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Santa
Cruz."
My winter quarter grades don’t come out for at least another two weeks… what do I do? Why did I get this?
@tooweirdyo report the grades when they are available. They sent me a somewhat similar email about 6 weeks ago asking to provide some info. Nothing to worry about. Click the link they provided - it will take you to their online messaging system, explain the situation in as much detail as possible (do you have your preliminary grades? Or a date when actual grades will be posted? Make sure to mention that in your message).
P.S.: I asked that a moderator removes the link from your post. Please do not post personal links like this one, since anyone can use it, respond anonymously to uc on your behalf, and mess up your academics.
@lenocturne I’m worried though because if they’re obviously asking for my grades then what if the grades I self-report end up being Bs or A-'s? I was under the impression winter quarter didn’t count as much. I tried my best in all my classes but still.
@tooweirdyo I would advise that you send them a message through the form that they sent you a link to. At my CC it takes a while for the grades to be officially posted, but most of my professors use Blackboard and always post final grades there first, so I thought this might be the case. But if you do not have your winter grades yet, do not speculate, just tell them that you don’t have them yet and that you expect them to be posted on this or that date (check with your CC when that might be). Once you get your winter grades, update your application. You may want to notify each UC you applied to individually, but they should all be able to see this update.
