MET Interview

Just out of curiosity, how what is someone’s changes( % wise) if they get an interview for the MET program at Berkley. I’m applying next fall and just wondering.

I’m currently in the MET program (EECS + Business) and I don’t know what the exact chances are with an interview, but I’m pretty sure that everyone in the current MET class had an interview before they were accepted

@scorpion110, when did you get your interview request last year?

@scorpion110 Thank you so much. Would you mind sharing some of the questions and how to best prepare?

@bogeyorpar I know at least EECS requests have gone out. Dont know about the rest though

It’s just crazy how they did the EECS ones so fast. Maybe those who got interviews were so qualified that it was obvious, which is unfortunate. MET is competitive program anyway. I’m holding out for regular EECS though, I have stats that should be enough… But again you never know, Berkeley can be random.

@whitball2022 How do you know that at least EECS requests have gone out? Do you mean some EECS requests or all EECS requests? Thanks.

@scorpion110 The twitter and FB announcement states that MET will be sending interview invites on a rolling basis over the coming weeks. Do you know approx how many invites have already gone out vs how many more? Or, for how long do they anticipate sending invites? Or, what is the process they are following (1st EECS, then IEOR; based on order of when the supplement was received and reviewed, random etc)? Thank you for any clarification you can provide.

@Voidreaver22 We don’t know anything for certain. It just seems that a lot of the EECS interview requests have gone out from what we have seen from fellow posters.

Oh, and when did you guys turn in your apps? The few I’ve asked who got interview requests say they turned in their apps way earlier than the deadline.

@Bgrahn Well the deadline changes depending on when you submitted your application. Also, I’m saying that I took an L because I submitted my supplement for MET at the end of November which is early. So, not good.

@Voidreaver22 , what Twitter and FB account do you follow for Cal/MET admissions?

@bogeyorpar Yeah, I got an interview last year. Though I am not 100% sure, I think everyone in the program did the interview before getting the acceptance

@whitball2022 It’s pretty much like any other college interview, though while you’re in the middle of it, time will probably seem to fly by lol. Ik this is a cliche answer, but the most important thing is to just be yourself! They just want to learn more about you. Good luck on the interview!

Wow. It’s amazing that so many MET students are here on CC. Aren’t there only like 15 of you per year that get selected?

@Voidreaver22 I have no idea how many invites there are or what the timeline is, but I remember doing my interview in some time in January and getting my result in early-to-mid February. I don’t think the day I submitted the supplement affected my timeline because I applied pretty late to the program
