Metallurgical engineering

Hello there! I’ve posted this before in another forum, but thought it better to post it here as well.
Would someone suggest the best universities for metallurgical engineering??
Also, I wanted to know if the ivies were good enough for the same…

Bump…

try the engineering forum- you’ll get more help there.

My S and his gf are material science engineers (another name for metallurgists). They have great jobs and went to a regional technical university. Neither had trouble getting a job and when the gf switched jobs she found something in the city they wanted to live in, very easily.

Look for what you want to do and pick a school that works for you. Look at who comes to their employment fairs and see what you would like to do.

Colorado School of Mines, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Michigan Tech, South Dakota School of Mines, New Mexico Tech are examples of schools that have good Material Science or Metallurigical departments.

Also check out Case Western Reserve University.

OP, you will find relatively few ABET-accredited programs specifically in metallurgical engineering. Most programs that incorporate metallurgical engineering will be found under the broader designation of “materials science.”
