How good is Mines' Chemical Engineering program outside of petroleum?

I’m interested in polymers, material science, and fuels, does Mines have good programs for them?

@Vrael101 The Mines Materials science Department was very metallurgy oriented but now has some ceramics, and fuel focused faculty:

Mines Department of Chemistry and Geochemistry also has faculty working in polymer science:

Are you applying for a bachelors or a masters degree?

If you want to study polymer science look also at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. They offer an entire department of Macromolecular Science in addition to the Materials Science program that is less metallurgy oriented compared to Mines.

PM me if you have more questions about polymer science and good programs for that major.

Thank you so much, I’m still in high school and am applying for a bachelor’s degree. To be completely honest, I don’t know exactly what to go into as I haven’t gotten much experience outside of a few seminars and a course in O-Chem. From all the different sources I’ve taken, polymers, sources of energy, and materials pique my interest the most, but I don’t think I can lock myself into something this early. Also, thanks for the recommendation, I’ll definitely check out Case Western Reserve.
