Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences

Hello, I will be a freshman at a flagship state university next year. Although my school does not have a meteorology or atmospheric sciences program, I still have a few questions about this topic:

Can/Do students with BS in other majors (Math, Engineering, other sciences) pursue graduate studies in meteorology?

Do students with meteorology BS get related jobs after undergrad? Do students with other majors also work for these companies? What is the pay scale here?

What is the career outlook for PhD students in meteorology? Are most students employed or unemployed? Is the salary as high as Salary.com says:

Salary.com Salary Wizard- Do you know what you're worth?

-Thanks

I read somewhere on College Board that if a school does not have a meteorology program then you can major in either math or physics (I think, I am not for sure which major it said but I know that it is somewhere along the lines of those two). After completing this, they then become certified through a test with AMS. Most students who major in something else then become certified through the AMS will find a job because they can work with Meteorology or their major. Go to “Major and Career Search” on College Board. There is tons of information there. I hope that I helped.
