meteorology vs astronomy which has more math?

So I'm going to a community college this coming fall of 2014. I will be going for Geology and Physics, then later pursue my career in Geography. Oh and my goal is to reach the highest math in my school and that's Calculus 3. Michigan State University is my top transfer school. Oh and also MSU offers a a preparatory program to graduate school in atmospheric science. My problem is that I love astronomy and Meteorology but which has more math? I love math and science

my brother said the airforce meteorology training has math questions that are 3 pages long.

i dont know about astronomy.

I’m a meteorology major so I can give you some info on that. All BS in meteorology require at minimum Calc 3 but most require one or two courses in differential equations. Astronomy (or astrophysics) probably would be similar with the addition of high level physics courses.

At a graduate level, meteorology would be high level courses on topics like atmospheric dynamics ect…

Thank you Wxstudent24  you’re a lifesaver.

Astronomy is a subfield of physics. Astrophysics is one of the most abstract physical fields, it has quite a bit of math. Observational astronomy is not so much.

Can’t say too much about meteorology
