Congratulations to MHC on its 174th year as of November 8, 2011 ! The first of the Seven Sisters! And this anniversary comes in the midst of elfing, too.

I was a student during the Sesquicentennial, and what a great time that was! I can’t believe another 24 years have gone by. MHC has changed A LOT; my old dorm room in Porter is an office, Blanchard student center has been renovated again, and it was just renovated to the last version when I was there…in fact, my freshman year (we weren’t called First Year students then) Blanchard was still the original building with the old style mailboxes and when the building was renovated it seemed very modern and sort of odd! Every dorm no longer serves every meal every day, and I don’t know if they still hold “Gracious Dinners” and invite faculty to dine complete with white table cloths and candles? I loved getting “Elfed” and as a senior, required my “first year” student to “elf” my favorite professor!
MHC is a truly special place…
