Sorry about the typos above…on a phone. You can click miamidap above and read his (her?) posts on the topic of pre-med at mu, there are a lot.
My older son is a sophomore at Alabama majoring in accounting. He loves it. He has been really happy with his classes, Greek life, Tuscaloosa etc. The campus is large and beautiful. Lots of new buildings. He is into sports and the whole Crimson Tide thing has been a great fit for him. The last few classes have been nearly 50% out of state kids because Alabama has been so generous with scholarship money and with the football team creating tremendous national exposure.
Son #2 is a current senior, accepted at Miami including honors program with 18K scholarship. Also offered full ride at Alabama for NMS. He is not into sports, would like a smaller school than Alabama and doesn’t really want follow his brother so Miami is a viable option although they are offering considerably less money than Bama. We live close to Nashville, TN so Tuscaloosa is 3.5 hours and Oxford 5-6 hours. We are going to Make it Miami next week. We have never been to Oxford/Miami and look forward to our visit.
