Michigan EA Chances (out of state)

Hi! I am a current senior who is applying EA to the School of LSA

My ACT is a 32 (36 Reading 35 English 32 Science 30 Math)and my GPA is 4.01 W and 3.87 UW.

I am a white female from an upper-middle family. My ECs/Achievements include Varsity Soccer (3 years), President of Arts and Culture Club, Student Council, 100+ volunteer hours (including working with a homeless shelter in Chicago for affordable housing), NHS, peer tutor, student ambassador, babysitting (I have a “business” babysitting for kids with Type 1 Diabetes), school honors program (student leader within program)

Also does it help that my dad went to Michigan and is on campus a lot as a recruiter with JP Morgan for the Ross Business School?

Michigan only uses unweighted. Michigan defers alot of people but apply early action. Would be nice if the Act was higher. 10,000 on the wait list last year. Seemed like you can have a nice essay and they do count. Michigan also likes contact so go visit and email or talk to your schools regional person from Michigan.

Use any connections you have. If your dad has some connections great but it could be a conflict of interest also. Really don’t know. But you could always throw a line in an essay that you have visited and learned about Michigan since your dad recruits for JPMorgan. Legacy never hurts. I am from Chicago also so Go Cubs and Go Blue!
