Please don’t judge vocal ability from youtube…I can find horrific sounding stuff of Idina and others and it is not a true reflection of what they can do.

Absolutely. Such a mistake to judge anyone from most youtube videos.

I imagine the kids will be fine with her as a classmate. Their parents, as may be intimated on this thread, are another story.

Didn’t mean to offend anyone by my comments. Whether she would have gotten in without being Madonna’s daughter is something we will never know. But who you know will always matter as much or more as what you can do. My D knows this and accepts it.

Maybe having a “showbiz” parent is the equivalent of being a “legacy” for other types of programs (after all, a comment was made earlier that being a Michigan legacy does not help in BFA- which I can imagine to be true at many other schools as well). Is it the only factor necessary? (like if there was a child of a superstar who couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket, or dance without falling over) or is it just a nudge (all other factors being equal, that puts a kid over the top) Who knows…but it sure couldn’t hurt…

My original thought when starting the thread was…“look, even Madonna’s kid (who could clearly gain entry into LOTS of fields) is into theater and MT”… not a commentary on celebrity etc
