I submitted my application on the deadline (3/15), and the action center says it was submitted successfully. In past years, it seems like interview offers were given out within a month of the deadline, but it’s April 30th today and the action center still says my application is just submitted.
Does anybody know the timeline for the interview offers? Or, have you received one?
Hi there! I’m in the exact same situation as you are, it’s really frustrating how they emailed everyone that finalists will be picked on the 19th and nothing happened.
My Microsoft action center changed today – I was “not selected”. I guess they weigh whiney essays more than dozens of github contributions and a handful of major side projects.
They are solely concerned with diversity numbers, the only people in my Seattle area school who got interviews were girls. They couldn’t care less about how much effort you’ve put into computer science.
@w00pw00p dude you’re sounding like a very entitled kid. After reading thru your comments on other college admission threads, you should definitely tone it down and learn how to be a gracious loser. The fact that you think your “friend”, who was the only one of 9 from ur school that got accepted into UW CSE, only got in because they’re a minority, makes you such an entitled person. And the fact that you think Microsoft “weigh whiney essays more” than your supposed dozens of github contributions and side projects, you are, and I cannot emphasize, indeed very entitled. Learn how to take rejections and don’t trash on other people’s accomplishments just because you did not get what they got. Sounds like a lot of jealousy coming from u.
I agree with @phannn It is beyond awesome that you are doing all these things, and it is good that you are proud of what you do. But remember that there are a lot of factors that go into making a decision, and it may seem like you might be more qualified, and maybe you are, but as an officer they cant judge your character based off of accomplishments alone.
