Mid-size school?

HI all-- Looking for input from folks on mid-sized schools (above 5k undergrads); Northeast to Midwest, LGBT friendly, where greek life is not overwhelming; liberal arts (doens’t know major). Was thinking of places like Lehigh but that is over 40% greek. On list are Pitt, UVM, NYU…others?

don’t have test scores yet but are just starting to explore.
thanks

Budget?

Tufts, U of Rochester

any budget.

Case Western Reserve University. (It’s around 25% Greek, according to College Board.)

Tufts is among the top LGBT friendly schools (as is UVM - check the link within the link below). Tufts has 10% of men in frats according to the US News listing.

Case Western’s Greek life is not crazy and does not dominate the social scene. I know it is LGBT friendly and has a ton of majors.

Thanks-- looking for less than 25% greek if possible…and not sure Tufts is doable grade and score wise, but yes we will look at that.

Macalester?

American Univ in DC and Ithaca College in NY

Ithaca College
U of Maine at Orono – a less expensive UVM – matching your flagship costs currently – 15% greek life, says one source

If you are just starting to explore colleges my best suggestion is to get your hands on some good college guide books (ex. Fiske, Princeton Review, Insiders Guide) and start reading up on different schools. This can go a long way to give you a sense of what choices are out there. You should be able to find at least some of these books at your HS guidance office or in a library.

UMass Amherst

The College of New Jersey
Drew University – very arty and has a woodsie campus–Drew is smaller than the others thought. sorry.
