Medium-Sized schools that have a large gay population?

I know there are countless threads on LGBT-friendly schools, etc.

But I was wondering if anyone knows of schools that are somewhat affordable or offer some type of scholarships that also have a student body of 6,000+.

There are many small LAC's listed as gay-friendly, but the majority have too small of a population and/or are pretty expensive. So was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions - thank you!

To get more people to help you, you may want to first read <a href=“Before you ask which colleges to apply to, please consider - College Search & Selection - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1621234-before-you-ask-which-colleges-to-apply-to-please-consider-p1.html</a> , give details suggested therein, and specify what the upper limit of “medium-sized” is (you only gave a lower limit of 6,000).

What state do you live in?

Sorry -
2080 SAT, Didn’t take ACT yet, top 5% of class, i live in the Northeast, want a college where the majority of the students dorm and don’t commute, and I am willing to go to possibly “lower-tier” schools for scholarships, etc.
I am stuck between Med School - or Business (very different - I know)

Any suggestions would help - thank you!

Is Northeast a state now? Your in-state schools will generally be more affordable. That’s why @intparent‌ asked the question. There may be some mid-tier schools that have a fairly large gay population.

Oh I’m sorry - New York!

Geneseo? Purchase? (for in-state options)
NYU is an obvious answer, too.

Run the Net Price Calculators - net price is often different from sticker price, especially at LACs where you’d qualify for money.

lol, NYU has LGBT concentration? Purchase, maybe.

SUNY New Paltz would be worth checking into.

Another vote for SUNY NP. Affordable and diverse with a nice town and supportive environment.

artloverplus: yes, NYU has a strong LGBT segment (especially gay guys). :)

Do LGB stereotypes by major (e.g. CS, drama) have any basis in reality?

If they do, would schools with a lot of students in such majors (e.g. CMU) also be candidates for this thread?

I hadn’t heard about CS, but I believe it is true of music, art and design.

Thanks for suggestions !
