Will USC recalculate my GPA from what they receive in my mid-year report, or is the report more of a gauge for how well I am doing my senior year? I have a slightly below average GPA (3.65 UW/4.5 W) however I experienced an adversity my sophomore year that affected my grades (death in immediate family 2 weeks before school started). I expect to have a great mid-year report, as my grades have had a huge upward trend since the adversity, so the weight of it when considering my app is really important to me.
Thanks!
Unless USC renders its admission decision in your favor as part of the merit scholarship process in January, they will likely be reevaluating you in Match. With such, they will certisnly be considering your mid-year grades. Whether or not they recalculate your cumulative GPA or not, I would rest assured that your senior grades will at least be evaluated as a component of their holistic review of your application.
Good Luck
