Mid year report questions

A quick question. I don't have a 4.0 cumulative gpa anymore after first semester, so should I put my class rank and gpa?
Also, my counselor does not have to send in a transcript now, right? Thanks.

Also, should I put my weighted or unweighted GPA? I just think that not having a 4.0 weighted won't look as good as a 4.6 for example.

They ask you specifically if it's weighted or unweighted. Put down what you wish--either way, they see your real grades.

i dont think chicago will be all that worried that you dont have a 4.0. i got in with an uw 3.7ish, so you oughta be fine.

My son's GC is sending in the transcript. I think that with all the varieties of grading systems it wouldn't hurt. The final transcript also has to go in - if Chicago chooses you and you choose Chicago.

chicago allows the students to report their own grades without checking up on them because its a lot easier for their GCs and a chicago acceptee is probably trustworthy. They'll get the final transcript anyway if you end up there so they know if you lied or not. If everyone has their GCs send transcripts anyway then it completely defeats the school's purpose of NOT REQUIRING THE GCS TO DO MORE WORK THAN THEY HAVE TO.

The form to be submitted to the GC lets them provide additional information. If this would be useful to your application, having it submitted is not a bad thing.
