I am applying to a variety of schools but the two I want to get into most are the University of Dayton and the University of Cincinnati. I have roughly a 3.1 GPA and scored a 28 on my ACT. This is my senior year of high school, and I messed up big time. Grades are coming to a close and I have a D+ in a class, due to a huge paper due right before exams that a lot of people, myself included, did very poorly on. It dropped me from a B- to the D+ due to the fact that we haven't really had too many assignments in this class. Did i just screw myself out of possibly getting accepted because of this awful mid-year report all of my colleges are going to get? I've never had a D in the past. I had a B+ the first semester and I did very well on the exam if that helps my chances.

The only ones that can answer this are UD and UC. You may be provisionally accepted or accepted under academic probation but that is their call.
