Not sure if this is the right forum to put it in? I made an account just to make this post, but basically, I am terrified that I'm going to be rejected from Northwestern and all my other schools because of my midyear report.
My grades over the years have been mostly A's, B's. I am taking six AP classes this year (took 3 last year) and my first marking period, I had three (high) B's and the rest A's. This marking period, I have all A's and one C. I have NEVER gotten a C as an average before.
Will this hurt my chances into getting into my colleges? (Especially Northwestern?)

It’s not a good thing, but a lot depends on the rest of application. If it’s one of many problems, it may be the one thing that breaks you, but it could have been anything. If everything else is strong, then everyone gets one “oops”. In other words, it’s not likely to be the only thing that keeps you out, but if you can get rid of it, then by all means do so.

FWIW, six APs was a mistake, no one expects you to do that. It doesn’t impress schools, but it does run the risk of happening what’s happening now, too much work resulting in a lowered grade or two. Little upside with a high risk of downside. Those planning their schedules for next year take note - 5 or 6 APs is rarely a good idea and almost always not helpful.

Your midyear report encompasses first semester grades. Are you confident you will get a C first semester?

Problem resolved: Colleges actually only see my semester grades, oops! Bad thing is, I can’t get an A in the class for the semester because of the C
