Mid year report

Hello,
Does UT Austin require a mid year report to be sent? If yes, is it automatically processed by the counselors? The ultimate reason for my asking is if UT looks at senior grades... do they?

If you have not been accepted yet, I would suspect they will look at mid-year grades. If you have been accepted, they will look at your final transcript. The transcript if all jacked up can make them resend admission.

Actually my D was not an auto admit last year. The only transcript we sent in was the one that reflected her grades through the end of Junior year. She applied in early September and was accepted in late Febraury. We did not send in another transcript until June when her final grades were in. That was even after she went to orientation and registered. I do not think they would rescend your admission unless you completely tanked in your senior year…and even then, they wouldn’t know about it until the end of the school year, after graduation. In short, no, they do not request a mid year transcript…they admit you by the transcript at the end of junior year.

They will use 7th semester grades if you send them in. So if they will raise your GPA, send them in. If not, don’t send them in.

They’re optional.

^^^however, most people have not completed the 7th semester before the deadline, which is December 1st. The deadline was January 1st up until last year, when they moved it to December 1st. I have read on here that admissions is very strict about having everything by the December 1st deadline…I wonder though if one was to get into the top 8% after the 7th semester grades come out, if they will consider that??

It says on the website they accept 7th semester transcripts until January 31st.

My first semester ends the 14th, so I’m sending them the following Monday.

Well, the top 8% law only applies through junior year so if you entered the top 8 percent after the seventh semester you would not gain automatic admission.

^^Ok…that makes sense…
