I was deferred early decision to the hotel school back in December. Last week my guidance counselor called me to the office and told me that Cornell requested my mid-year report with my new grades and everything. I know that everyone applying regular decision is supposed to send in mid year reports, but wasn't sure about them doing it for deferred early decision people. Do they do this for all deferred early decisions? Is this good?? Thanks for your input!

Tbh, I believe schools with early decision/action request mid-year reports for all deferred applicants, so no, it’s not inherently “good.” However, I suppose having good 1st semester senior year grades puts you at a slight advantage relative to other applicants.
