A mid-year grade report is not generally required as part of our application process.

The grades that our Committee has available to review at the time of our academic evaluation will depend on your individual high school and their unique grading schedule as well as when you choose to apply to NYU (i.e. Early Decision or Regular Decision.) Generally speaking, there will always be some part of your twelth grade record for which our Committee will not have final grades for at the time of your application review. Those grades which are provided on your transcript at the time that you apply will be included within our application review. In some cases, we do request grades for the first semester of the senior year, but we do not ask students to routinely provide those grades.

Additionally, final grades are reviewed for all students who accept our offer of admission and all offers of admission are contingent upon the successful completion of the course work that you have in progress at the time that you apply.

right from the NYU admissions forum =D although i kind of wish they did, i did really good first semester. i'll probably just send it anyway.

I wish there was a standard. Either yes or no for all Universities.

Would it hurt to send it anyways? I think my school sends them auto through naviance, so I'd have to tell them not to.

only if you are waitlisted

dont bother if you're in

i didnt send anything

thank you so much! good to know.

I thought about sending it in if my rank improves this quarter, but even though I will probably get a 4.0 this quarter I didn't do so hot 1st quarter so if my rank jumps I might send it in, but otherwise it's just pointless.

So do consider it if the school sends it?

quick question: on the mid-year school report, do you have to give ur midterm grades? averaged grades? wat exactly do u show the college?

counselor showed me a midyear report

it's just your transcript with your average so far for the year in the senior year spot.

(so it's the average, so far, of your senior year)

with ur average in each class?? or just in terms of ranking (like to show if it improved or not)?

sorry, the readon why im specifically asking is because i think i did HORRIBLE on my AP music theory course....so i would prefer NOT to have that sent

it shows both

my counselor said it's this paper that says mid year report on it, and attached is a transcript.

ooo gotcha, thnx ughhh, i hate music theory

i feel you, i'm in AP music theory and am hoping for a 90 on the midterm haha.

If you win a somewhat prestigious national award, should you send it to NYU or any other university you applied to along with the Mid Year Report? Or is that just if you find out you've been waitlisted in like April? And if you don't usually do that, is it a bad idea to?

And what if you took a Subject Test for the second time and did much better?

In December, I took a third Subject Test I needed for another college, and I also took the Lit test over again, and got a 730, which is much better than the 650 I got the first time in July. Should I bother sending the new score report to all my colleges, along with mid-year reports and notification of the award I received?

Just send a score report

For NYU, is HEOP granted automatically to students who qualify? or do you need to sign up or something? I applied via commonapp and didn't see an option to select unlike for SUNY's where they did give an option for their EOP.
