Mid-Year School Report

<p>I noticed that Harvard forgoes the Common App Mid-Year School Report and in its stead uses Harvard's own form. Does anybody know why this is, and isn't it against the Common App's universal acceptance principle? Also, would it be possible to substitute the Common App's Mid-Year School Report for Harvard's unique one?</p>
