Mid year?

Does penn state require a mid-year report, because I have heard that they do not. Do they at least require a final transcript? And, how bad would either of these have to be to have them rescind admission? What about Schreyer's?

My d got accepted into Penn State and they do no require a mid year report. I don't even think they require a final transcript, I think thats what someone who graduated high school last year told me. Schreyers may be a different story.

That would be great news...can anyone confirm?

I called the main admissions office and Schreyers, and I was told that neither requires a midyear report. However, if you would like to send one, they will accept it.

Awesome. What about final transcript?

I'm not sure, but I bet they don't care, since they don't even want midyear grades. By June, the admissions and merit money are decided. But I am not certain, so it would be better to ask the admissions office.

I was worried because my son was on the verge of dropping an AP and there was also fear he may slack off and fail. So I called and they said it's a matter of core courses, like if you need 3 sciences and you are working on #4 it doesn't matter if you pass or fail #4- what is important is those core courses. Of course it would benefit student to take the AP and try and then pass out of other classes, but as far as acceptence is concerned it doesn't really matter how well or poorly you do after the core requirements- if you have already been accepted.

That's really good news. I already have Biology, Chemistry, and AP Physics my first three years (and passed). Now I don't have to worry about AP Chemistry this year!!!!!

My AP Chemistry teacher made it a requirement to attend a college-level chemistry lab course at Hunter College taught by HIM for 3 hours every Saturday. However, I have not been going lately and my teacher is getting mad that some students stopped going. I just found out my teacher is going to write a letter to our (any senior's) colleges saying we did not complete the lab component for our AP Chemistry class, hence, we won't be completing our AP Chemistry Class. When PSU receives this letter about me, what would happen to my admission? What should I do? The letter scares me.... =[

By the way, I received a 92 for my first semester AP Chemistry grade and an A for the lab at Hunter College first semester.
