middle of nowhere?

yeah when I visited Cornell, I couldn't even use my T-mobile phone from the hotel that was only 3 miles away from the campus.

get verizon

"i know theres no airport, but i hope everything else necessary is in ithaca, like banks, chain restaurants, malls, courts, golf courses, bowling alleys, supermarkets, all that stuff. ithaca has all that stuff....RIGHT?"

there's an airport

there's plenty of banks

all of the chain restaurants you can think of

there's a mall w/ all of the chain stores and movie theaters, etc

there's several shopping centers as well

there's a golf course if you walk across a road from campus

there's a bowling alley on campus

the supermarket (wegmans) is among the best in the US - just ask anybody around.

I checked the mall online... they had like 10 stores including target... or something...

but I still love Cornell!!

to emoneydoemup:

Ithaca has asian food stores, though not terribly big or cheap. There's Winli by Wegmans, and another smaller one that I can't remember the name of by Pyramid Mall. There's also a Korean restaurant in collegetown, but I haven't heard too many positive things about it. Thai food is much more popular in Ithaca. Vietnamese and Mediterranean cuisines are definitely popular too. Chinese and Korean much less so. I don't know why. It just is.

All in all, there's nothing like mom's cooking. But I think everyone, regardless of ethnicity, will say that. If you need a fix, the certain dining halls (mainly appel) and the random asian restaurants in collegetown will solve that.

mall website, please?
:P

there's more than 10 stores at the mall, it's the averaged mid-sized mall and is rather large for the area.

alamode: Google does exist
