They’re almost identical. I’d rather be by the ocean.

@barvoets. Seems like you have your answer. You need to go with what feels right.

Does anyone know if those waitlisted get notified by mail as well?
Did those accepted receive anything in the mail today?

So, No

It’s a question of fit. I’ve got a son at Bowdoin and one accepted to Middlebury. The one at Bowdoin would never think about switching to Middlebury and the one accepted to Middlebury didn’t even think of applying to Bowdoin.
Assess your likes and dislikes and visit both if possible. Forum comments will not help you decide.
That said, compared to all of the other college choices out there, these two schools are pretty similar. The relatively small difference might be huge for you, though.

Did you get merit money for any of the above mentioned schools?

@barvoets: Bowdoin’s quality of life is honestly the best! You have GOT TO try their food. It’s SO GOOD!! Bowdoin students seem to be really happy and friendly. Brunswick is also a very nice little town that’s close to Portland. With the new amtrack station in Brunswick, you can take the train to Boston in less than 3 hours!

The same can be said for Middlebury. Except substitute “Burlington” for “Portland.” The drive from Midd to Boston is 3.5 hours. The drive from Midd to Montreal is 2.5 hours.

Ugh, both schools sound amazing! It honestly will come down to campus visits I think… hopefully that’ll help sort out a few things. One day Bowdoin will be my first choice, then the next day, Midd will be. Can’t wait to just decide already!

@nervedoc, I’m fairly certain neither of these schools offers merit aid.
