Middlebury Class of 2019 RD Applications

@unproductive institutional priorities play a huge role.

Accepted! No aid, but still very excited!

Rejected. This was my first rejection, and I’m glad that I’m not too sad about it.

Same here, but I wasn’t surprised since no one from my high school had even applied over the last 5 years and I’m on the east coast. What schools are you strongly considering so far?

Accepted as a Feb

@schoolgirl96 I preferred septemember admission but got placed in February. I think they look for certain personality traits to decide who gets put in February admission

@ unproductive - I’m sure you didn’t mean it to sound this way, but it comes off as if you are saying that since you were or are going to be admitted to Dartmouth, you were entitled or expected to be admitted to Middlebury. I am sure if you choose to go to Dartmouth next year, you will have a wonderful experience. Since the schools have so mnay cross applicants, I don’t find it a bit strange at all. I know several Midd students who chose Middlebury over Dartmouth and vice versa. Admissions committees seem to have a knack for finding great fits.

@ the students who were accepted as Febs… full disclosure, my son was a Feb who begrudingly “reged” himself but who is considering foregoing May graduation ceremonies in order to “ski down” with his fellow Febs next year. It’s a tight knit group of wonderful energetic and independent students. They tend to have higher GPA’s and disproportionately represent leadership positions on campus. Probably not the best for student athletes, but other than that… a great way to do Midd and College in general… sort of a mini gap year or Feb-mester as they call it.

Congrats to all who were accepted and good luck to those who will continure on their search whether it is because Midd isn’t your first choice or you weren’t theirs, there are many great options out there!

@Blastlvr34 Yeah, I read about that! It makes me feel special

@Blastlvr34 I remembered hearing that it was actually the weaker students who were admitted for February admission?

Very excited about getting accepted to Middlebury! It was one of my favorite schools that I toured, and there is a strong chance that I will end up there. I hope to see some of you next fall!

@MikeRicky Well, whatever you “heard” was wrong. It was statistically proven that the “Feb” stats are equal and/or slightly better, and the “Febs” tend to perform even better in class…not to mention taking a disproportionately larger number of leadership positions on campus. So, yeah. Feel free to look it up though!

A little late to the party, but hello all. International from Pakistan accepted RD.

Got accepted!!! I’m Serbian, and I got full aid

Hope to see you all in September

Is anyone else apprehensive about the fact that the Facebook group for Midd is pretty dead? also, the admin for the group is a junior at villanova…it’s pretty weird

Accepted! Extremely excited and will likely attend!

Yeah the Facebook page is pretty dead because probably everyone isn’t on it.

Yeah, MikeRicky this simply isn’t true. The quality of admits is no different, no matter when they want you to matriculate.
