Middlebury gets record number of applications

Middlebury saw a 17% increase in applications this year, with 6,152 applicants vying for around 570 spots in the class of 2010. That's 900 more applicants than last year's total of 5,254. ED I and II applications were up by 21% over last year.

Fun.... :( There goes my chance!

We will get in Izzy!!!

We? Using the royal "we" are we now, acceptance? ;)

I don't know total numbers yet, but I know Swats EDI was up 40% O_O!

I hope numbers don't continue increase like this; if so I feel sorry for the current Jr/So/Fr :(

I'm even more nervous now.

woooooooow :(

Isnt it strange to see Harvard applications going down while the supposedly "less selective" schools' applications are going up? Oh well, I think this shows that too many people are "Harvard Phobia" and thus, might as well not apply there. And many people are duped into believing that their chances at colleges like Midd will increase... Wow!! COllege admissions is so unpredictable!

"Harvard-phobic" like "hydrophobic"? Nice phrase, mate.

Argh. Now I'm nervous.

I'm guessing the numbers are more reflective of people applying to many more elite schools than in the past with the hope than one or two might stick. It's crazy.

Almost all of the top schools have reported larger ED/EA pools. Acceptance rates are dropping ... a trend thats most likely to continue. Bad Luck future applicants.
